I’m not dead.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about where I’ve been for the last 15 months. Ready? I’ve been preoccupied.
“I won’t have it – you’re telling me you just stopped because other stuff was going on!? BUT I LOVED YOUR BLOG AND YOU JUST LEFT ME WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A GOODBYE! This is crap, I’m not reading this blog anymore.”
Yes, you are. And yes, that’s really all you’re getting out of me. Sometimes life gets in the way, and you have to prioritize. In the economy of my life, this blog is a wonderful hobby but one which needed to take a backseat for a while. I won’t get into the details of why, but I will say that Kim Jong-il’s passing really helped out my situation.Praise and honor to our Dear Leader.
And that’s that – I’m sorry to have left you hanging. For those of you who are still around, thank you. It’s nice to see you again.
But now I’m back, and things are going to be a little different:
1- I’m going to spend more time on the @youareagrownman Twitter. I’ll likely regret this after day one, but we’ll see how it goes.
2- I’m going to create less content for this blog. I’ll write, but it won’t be everyday and it won’t be as long. However, it’ll be more frequent than one post per Halley’s Comet, and less frequent than you’re used to. I’m thinking weekly-ish.
3- I’m not going to answer personal email sent to Grown Man anymore. That became odd when writing from Grown Man and not from an actual person. It was akin to your proctologist dentist wearing a ski mask – think about it. I’ll still be doing periodic Ask A Grown Man posts though, so fear not, I’ll still lampoon you publicly.
And there you have it, You Are a Grown Man is back. Hide your v-necks.

Next time you take a blogging break I really wish you would tell us via a very short post or tweet, we were so worried! But good for you for not letting a hobby get in the way of the important priorities in your life.
